Line & Wash Watercolor Workshop (Watercolor & Fine-Liner Ink)
Sunday, Oct 25 · 10:00–11:30 AM

Join local artist and educator Jax Preciado for a restorative 90-minute watercolor workshop at Kiʻikau Printers. Together, we’ll paint loose line-and-wash sanctuary scenes and safe spaces, creating functional swatched bookmarks for written intentions. Whether you want to paint something to gift or simply enjoy a quiet, creative morning for yourself, this beginner-friendly session is designed to help you slow down, unwind, and connect.

What We’ll Explore Together:

Jax will walk you step-by-step through drawing loose sanctuaries, peaceful corners, and safe spaces using fine-liner ink pens and layered watercolors. The line-and-wash method is completely forgiving—there are no wrong lines, no rigid rules, and no artistic perfection required.

How We’ll Create Step-by-Step:

  1. Loose Line Work: We’ll start with waterproof fine-liner ink, sketching loose, expressive archways, cozy spaces, and peaceful sanctuaries.

  2. Layering Color: We’ll layer loose watercolor washes over our ink lines to bring warmth and depth to the paper without worrying about staying in the lines.

  3. Swatched Intentions: We’ll pair our paintings with functional swatched bookmarks where you can write your gratitude, peace, or intentions for the upcoming season.

Everything Is Provided:

  • Professional watercolor paper, paints, waterproof fine-liner ink pens, and brushes

  • Physical examples, templates, and light refreshments in a cozy studio setting
