“It hadn’t written creatively in awhile.
I left with a notebook full of writing.”
— Catherine, Cohort 1I taught special education, which is where I learned that writing doesn’t start with writing. It starts with noticing.
I paint in watercolor. I write about my memories.
Third year presenting at Schools of the Future.
The practice I teach is the one I actually use.
the method behind everything
Everything I offer grows from one method: The Noticing Practice — a way of paying closer attention that turns everyday life into writing, creativity, and connection.
I've spent years as an educator and curriculum designer bringing it into classrooms, writing circles, and organizations. It takes a different shape in each room, but the heart holds: when we notice more deeply, the making, the meaning, and the change follow.

Three ways to work with me
A Noticing Session
$175 | 60-Minute 1:1 Strategy (Zoom or Honolulu)
For writers, educators, and creators who are stuck on a single piece.
Bring one specific draft, essay opening, or stuck scene. Together, we will look at where your sensory details need depth, pull out your core narrative through-lines, and restructure your entry point.
You leave with: Direct, line-level clarity on that draft and a concrete roadmap to finish it.
Six Weeks of Noticing
$450 | Three 60-Minute Sessions + Written Feedback Memo (Save $75)
For creators, researchers, and memoirists building a larger project or manuscript arc.
Three 1:1 sessions spaced two weeks apart to build momentum and keep your nervous system regulated. Between Sessions 1 and 2, I closely read one complete piece (up to 3,000 words) and deliver a 1-page Written Structural Memo analyzing your pacing, somatic anchors, and thematic arc.
You leave with: A finished major piece, a repeatable writing practice, and total narrative momentum.
Creative Strategy & Professional Development
From $1,500 | 90-Min Masterclass, Half-Day, or Year-Long Licensing
For schools, district leaders, and mission-driven organizations.
Accessible, place-based writing curriculum rooted in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and trauma-informed practice. We provide professional learning and plug-and-play classroom tools (The Noticing Practice) that expand student voice, observation, and belonging.
Teachers leave with: Classroom-tested strategies that build student writing confidence and emotional regulation without teacher burnout.
Every prompt,
every space,
every layer —
built on purpose.
