Mija. I carry the girl I was and the woman I am with a name that holds love across generations.
Creative practices have always been my way of making sense of the world—a way of composting overwhelm into action and transforming it into something new. Painting faces and flowers is my practice of presence, patience, and tenderness
My path is rooted in my lineage.
Long before I called myself an artist, I noticed the world. I kept a visual inventory of coral light glowing across the water, the squeak of packed snow underfoot, and the quiet textures of daily life.
The lineage of noticing — of being seen — is at the heart of my work.
I believe the small things we practice every day shape who we become—and the future we create together.
