Practicing Everyday Magic

The Noticing Practice is a small creative writing community

for people who want to build confidence, creativity, and a sustainable writing practice.

Together, we'll explore how the ordinary moments of our lives can become meaningful writing through:

observation

reflection

conversation,

and hands-on creative practice.

Each session includes guided writing prompts, journaling, community discussion, and opportunities to experiment with mixed media as tools for noticing, meaning-making, and creative expression.

Whether you're a lifelong writer, returning to the page after a lo

ng break, or simply curious about developing a creative practice, you'll be welcomed exactly as you are.

You'll leave with new writing, a personalized journal, practical tools for generating ideas, and a supportive community of fellow writers.

No previous writing experience is required.

Hi,

Iʻm Jax

I’m a writer, artist, educator, and community builder based in Hawaiʻi.

My work explores creativity, belonging, and the stories we carry through everyday life. Through writing, photography, workshops, and art, I create opportunities for reflection, connection, and meaningful conversation.

Creativity is how I make sense of the world, stay connected to what matters, and transform ordinary moments into stories, images, and experiences that can be shared with others.

Helping people turn everyday moments into stories, art, and meaningful connection.

Building creative practices rooted in attention, imagination, and community.

Follow the Manu o Kū to Kiʻikau

Once you learn to recognize them, you begin to see them everywhere. The Noticing Practice is an invitation to do the same with your own life—to slow down, pay attention, and discover the stories hidden in plain sight.

We'll meet in the heart of Kakaʻako at Kiʻikau Printers, a creative community space where we'll write, reflect, create, and share together.
